It was reported over the weekend how the Ligue 1 side were keen on bringing the 31-year-old to the Allianz Riviera.

And it is believed that the Wales international turned down the chance to follow compatriot Gareth Bale to America.

Charlotte FC were willing to make Ramsey their highest-paid player on a two-year deal, but he has decided to try his luck in France.

A statement on Nice’s website read: “Welcome to your new home, Aaron.”

Ramsey took to social media to express his delight, where he tweeted in French: “A new chapter with Nice.”

In English, he added: “Can’t wait to get started.”

The three-time FA Cup winner will be looking to recapture his form ahead of the upcoming World Cup in Qatar.

Leicester goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel could soon follow in the footsteps of Ramsey by making the move to the south of France.

The Danish shot-stopper is said to have agreed a transfer to Lucien Favre’s side.

But his move is dependent on Leicester finding a replacement, according to French newspaper L’Equipe.

Benfica ace Odysseas Vlachodimos has been lined up as a possible option.
